Meet Alex

We first met Alex after he had completed a Diploma of Theology in South Sudan at Bishop Gwynne Bible College (BGC).

In conjunction with the advice of Very Rev. Samuel Marial Galuak, the principal of BGC, it was determined that he was a suitable candidate for Core Training & Development to sponsor for further theological studies at degree level, in Cape Town, South Africa.

Prior to his arrival in South Africa, Alex was convinced that the Lord wanted him to use his gifts to teach and preach the Gospel of the risen Christ.

Nevertheless, in his first year, Alex faced many challenges, including the new and vastly different culture and climate of Cape Town, the significantly higher academic expectation of the college, and the different way in which English was both spoken and written.

After finally adapting to the new environment, Alex successfully embraced this diversity and overall, has had a greatly positive experience.

Alex feels a lot more confident in the Word of God since his studies and has seen his love of God increase through a richer and deeper understanding of the Scriptures. He is incredibly excited to go back and teach his brothers and sisters who want to know God more.

Alex’s time at college has also shaped and developed his gift of preaching. He has taken part in preaching classes and was provided with opportunities to preach each semester. Alex now looks forward to serving God at BGC with his improved skills in preaching and teaching and will commence lecturing there in February 2021.

We praise God for His faithfulness and are so proud of this young man; his hard work, his godliness and his perseverance. We are excited to be supporting him in this next chapter of his life, and we know that the Lord is going to use him mightily for the furtherance of His kingdom!
